Mothers' Union

"The Mothers' Union (MU) is a Christian organisation with more than three and a half million members worldwide. The backbone of the MU is our worldwide network of volunteers. Whatever their individual backgrounds, our members are joined together by a commitment to marriage and family. Volunteers give their time unstintingly to help others, whether by running local projects, supporting international campaigns, or fundraising."

The Allington branch of the Mothers' Union is a very active group with around 60 members holding meetings every month (except August) preceded by a prayer meeting in Church. Visitors, including gentlemen, are always welcome to our meetings, which are held on the 3rd Thursday of the month in the Church Hall.

We celebrate Communion at 10am on the first Wednesday of the month at 10am.

As part of our commitment to HOPE08 Christian service in the community - we are knitting bonnets for our special care baby units. There are other knitting opportunities including 12" squares or 6" by 4 foot blanket strips, teddies for tragedies and baby clothes for Operation Sunshine. We have patterns and do need more volunteer knitters and donations of baby wool and wool oddments: contact Marianna 751243.
